The Ultrasound Innovation Pitch

After a successful first run last year, BMUS are pleased to continue Ultra-Sound Ideas: The Ultrasound Innovation Pitch.

This will be a session on Day 1 of the conference where successful applicants will have the opportunity to pitch for a grant to undertake research.

3 Grants will be available – 2 for up to £2,500, 1 for up to £5,000.

The application process will consist of two rounds.

This grant is open to BMUS Members ONLY.

Round 1

Submit a 300-word project proposal, complete the application form, and include financial costings and timelines. Read and follow the Oral Presentation Guidelines here.

To be submitted by 31st July 2026 via this form and using the "Oral Presentation" option.

Shortlisted applications will be notified on the week beginning the 17th September 2026.

Round 2

Successful proposals will be invited to present their application. This will be an 8 minute presentation with 2 minutes for panel questions.

The presentation should focus on how the project will meet one of the BMUS grant objectives.

This session is scheduled for 8th December 2026 from 11:05am.

BMUS Grant Objectives

BMUS is keen to receive research proposals that meet the theme of Evidence in Action: Transforming Practice, Improving Experience. We will also consider applications not meeting this theme.

All applications will be judged on merit.
