Dr Andrew McQueen

I qualified MBBS in 2001 and undertook medical postgraduate training (MRCP 2004) before commencing Clinical Radiology in the Northern Deanery in 2005. I developed an interest in Head and Neck imaging and undertook post CCT training at University College Hospital, London in 2010.  My role as a consultant radiologist at Freeman Hospital balances the general radiology workload of a busy teaching hospital with the provision of tertiary centre ENT imaging. I am particularly interested in Head & Neck ultrasound and Ultrasound guided neck procedures and have worked with several of the leading ultrasound vendors to optimise high resolution technique for improved characterisation of head & neck pathology.  I am the author of the Head & Neck section of the 2017 Royal College of Radiologists ‘Ultrasound Training Standards for Medical & Surgical Specialties’ and organiser of the British Society of Head & Neck Imaging Refresher Course (February 2019). In addition to Head & Neck imaging, I am interested in radiology education, learning from discrepancy and the integration of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging techniques
