Research on RSI in Sonographers

Research is being undertaken to look at repetitive strain injuries among sonographers and possible causes. The particular aim of this study is to determine if there is a link between the patient / sonographer position when scanning transvaginal examinations and the musculoskeletal strain.

The research comprises of two sections. The first section is in the form of a questionnaire which will be sent out to all sonographers within the UK, the second section is an observational study of sonographer’s posture when performing transvaginal scans.
