Webinar: The Diagnosis of Endometriosis - The Transition to Expert

14th Apr 2021

Dr Susanne Johnson is well recognised for her expert skills in the ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis. This webinar will first go through the technique required to scan the pelvis in a systematic fashion to identify endometriosis.

We will then include a facilitated discussion with some of Susanne’s colleagues at Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton to explore the process of transition to expert.

This will cover the first steps that can be added to what we currently recognise as a “basic” pelvic ultrasound scan to increase the sensitivity, in order to identify patients who might require a second level rescan to identify the possibility of endometriosis.

We will also examine the next steps that create the diagnostic confidence of an expert to whom the most complex patients are referred. We will cover scan timings, to TVS or not to TVS and the role of the MDTM and professional networks in gynaecology in the underpinning of the complete integrated service.
