Diagnostic and management dilemmas in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

11th Jan 2020

It can be difficult to know what a clinician wants and why they have requested a certain scan, leading to differences in the reports written by sonographers from the clinical question that the requester is truly asking for. This study morning will get behind the requesting mind of a clinician, and as a consequence we may appreciate and learn how to give a more pertinent relevant scan report. Ultrasound in obstetrics and gynaecology is a two-way relationship and this study day aims to portray a stronger team approach to patient centred care between the ultrasound team and the obstetrics/gynaecology departments. If we, as sonographers, understand the roles and dilemmas faced by our neighbouring teams, we can tailor our scans and results to deliver the correct services and excellent care for our patients.
