We welcome applications from suitable candidates based in and working in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland and from other international locations.
Ultrasound, the journal of the British Medical Ultrasound Society, is looking to appoint additional suitable candidates as deputy editors to join our current editorial team. The candidates should be keen and enthusiastic and have an interest in one or more areas of ultrasound (US) and its use in clinical practice. We are keen for the editorial team to reflect the membership of BMUS, including sonographers, physicists, radiologists, academics involved in US teaching and research, and specialist practitioners in a dedicated area of US (e.g. cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, obstetrics, breast, point of care US, etc.).
Essential requirements from suitable candidates include: experience in peer-reviewing; an excellent grasp of the English language (especially in written form); an interest in reading and publication of topics in ultrasound; an ability to undertake critical reviews of manuscripts; willing to dedicate their time to this voluntary role. It would also be desirable that successful candidates should have either experience in publishing their own work or work in academia.
We require additional editorial support in all areas of the clinical application of ultrasound, but we are particularly keen to recruit candidates with an interest and experience in statistics and physics. Clinically, ultrasound experience in the following areas: musculoskeletal system; paediatrics; head and neck; vascular; abdominal; technical advances in ultrasound, or any combination of these. We would like to encourage applicants with a medical specialism to also apply, including in Radiology and PoCUS.
