| Manifesto: |
I would like to become a BMUS Council Member because I am passionate about advancing ultrasound education, practice, and research at a national and international level. As an Assistant Professor of Radiology (Sulaiman Alrajhi University, Saudi Arabia) and Senior Sonographer, I have been actively involved in developing high-yield, practical educational resources, guidelines, and learning materials for both students and clinicians. I believe BMUS provides an excellent platform to extend this work, influence training standards, and promote best practice in ultrasound across multiple disciplines. I am also motivated to contribute to the strategic development of BMUS, ensuring that it continues to lead as the foremost multi-disciplinary ultrasound society. Being part of Council would allow me to collaborate with colleagues from different professional backgrounds, support the Annual Scientific Meeting, and contribute to committees, publications, and guideline development. Ultimately, I see this role as an opportunity to serve the wider ultrasound community, share my educational and clinical expertise, and help shape the future of ultrasound practice for the benefit of patients and professionals alike. |
| Experience: |
I can bring a combination of clinical, academic, and educational experience to the BMUS Council. As an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Senior Sonographer, I have extensive hands-on expertise in ultrasound practice and teaching across a wide range of applications. I have developed high-yield, exam-focused educational resources, quick-reference guidelines, and structured learning materials that are widely used by students and clinicians. My experience in academia has strengthened my skills in curriculum design, assessment, and mentoring, while my clinical role ensures I remain connected to the practical challenges faced by ultrasound practitioners. I have also been actively engaged in creating innovative teaching aids, visual posters, and quick review tools that make complex topics accessible for learners. I believe these experiences, alongside my commitment to promoting best practice and high-quality education, would allow me to make a meaningful contribution to the BMUS Council’s work in advancing ultrasound science, education, and practice |
| Background Information: |
I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Sulaiman AlRajhi University (KSA), where I contribute part-time through online teaching and the organisation of radiology courses for 4th year MBBS students. Alongside my academic role, I remain actively engaged in ultrasound education for sonographers in the UK and internationally. To support peer learning, I created and manage a dedicated WhatsApp group for sonographers, where I regularly share interesting cases, polls, and teaching material. This has grown into an active community of practice that fosters continuous learning and professional discussion. My teaching and training are grounded in BMUS guidelines, which I use exclusively when preparing lectures, educational posters, and key reference materials for sonographers. This ensures that the content I deliver is aligned with the best practice standards set by BMUS and reflects the Society’s aims of promoting excellence in ultrasound. Through this blend of clinical expertise, academic involvement, and innovative educational initiatives, I believe I can bring relevant experience and commitment to the BMUS Council, helping to further its goals in advancing ultrasound practice, education, and professional development. |
