Mr Andrew Lee

I am a dedicated sonographer and service leader, committed to advancing and supporting the profession.

Serving as a BMUS council member has been a privilege, providing me with broader insights into the vital contribution of ultrasound practitioners across healthcare.

Like many areas of healthcare, our profession faces significant challenges, including increasing demand, an ageing population, and workforce sustainability. It is essential that ultrasound practitioners have a clear and consistent voice at both local and national levels, ensuring we remain central to discussions on delivering high-quality patient care.

I am eager to continue as a BMUS council member to play my part in representing this voice, championing the remarkable work of ultrasound practitioners, and promoting the untapped potential they bring to patient care and service development.

I have occupied a Professional Lead Sonographer role since 2020, after a number of years as an Ultrasound manager.

I have experience with professional issues related to the profession, such as recruitment/retention and training. I currently lead a team which encompasses all levels of practice from undergraduate to consultant level, alongside general management experience.

I am currently acting upwards to the general imaging manager role within my organisation, which has expanded my experience in general management and leadership to the wider radiology staff group.

I also currently represent my Trust on radiology-based US matters within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Imaging network.
