The King Edward VII Memorial Hospital is looking for an experienced Sonographer with NHS or equivalent experience to work in a friendly and supportive team which provides excellent patient contact and response time. The hospital is the principal healthcare facility in the Falkland Islands providing primary care and a broad range of elective and emergency secondary care services.
The hospital is modern, well equipped and delivers a broad range of medical services to the community. In addition to Ultrasound, the imaging service provides Computed Tomography, Mammography and Plain Radiography.

The Role
Providing and reporting obstetric and general ultrasound scans within agreed departmental protocols and without clinical supervision. There is no requirement for on-call.
The hospital environment is one in which clinical staff have the time, resources, and support to provide the highest standards of care. Clinical staff are also encouraged to develop areas of their clinical expertise through CPD / study leave.

The Person
• Holds a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification
• Post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound
• Has five years or more experience of ultrasound scanning including obstetrics, gynaecology and general.
• Membership pf the Society of Radiographers or equivalent and registered with HPC
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and with strong communication skills

The Package
• A base salary of £42,641 to £52,555 (dependent upon experience)
• This role attracts a Market supplement of 15%
• A gratuity (lump sum) payment on completion of contract equivalent to 25% of the total salary value of the contract.
• A relocation allowance, to help with moving costs.
