Recruiting Clinical Ultrasound Practitioners to Become CASE Accreditors
Develop your skills through a structured pathway from Shadow Accreditor to Co‑Accreditor and then Lead Accreditor
Bring your clinical expertise to the future of ultrasound education.
CASE is recruiting experienced clinical ultrasound practitioners to become CASE Accreditors. You will observe and contribute to programme accreditation and re-accreditation activity under the guidance of established accreditors, learning how clinical standards, resources, governance and the student practice experience are evaluated.
The pathway is designed to support suitable individuals to progress from Shadow Accreditor to Co-Accreditor and, with further experience and demonstrated competence, to Lead Accreditor.
Being a CASE Accreditor can support you to meet the four pillars of ultrasound practice and underpin your ultrasound career by sstrengthening clinical practice through engagement with professional standards, patient safety and clinical governance; developing education skills through curriculum and assessment review; building leadership through multidisciplinary decision-making and progression to Lead Accreditor; and promoting research and service improvement through critical evaluation of evidence, innovation and quality outcomes.
We are looking for practitioners who:
- hold an appropriate ultrasound qualification and have substantial recent clinical ultrasound experience;
- have current knowledge of professional standards, evidence-based practice, clinical governance and patient safety;
- are involved in supporting, supervising and assessing ultrasound learners;
- can review detailed evidence objectively and provide clear, constructive feedback;
- communicate effectively and work well with education and clinical colleagues;
- demonstrate continuing professional development; and
- can commit time to preparation, meetings, accreditation activity and subsequent reporting.
What you will gain
- structured experience of the CASE accreditation process;
- mentoring and feedback from established accreditors;
- professional development in peer review, quality assurance and educational standards; and
- a supported route towards becoming a CASE Co-Accreditor and, in time, a Lead Accreditor.
Progression is based on experience, feedback, successful participation and readiness for the responsibilities of each stage; it is not automatic.
You will be expected to undertake at least 1 accreditation a year and undertake 4 online accreditation training webinars per year (these can also be accessed retrospectively via the CASE website.
