The British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) is looking for an organised, proactive Events & Marketing Officer to help deliver our national education and events programme and promote our work to members across the UK.

This varied, hands-on role combines event management with marketing and communications. You’ll coordinate study days and conferences, support our flagship Annual Scientific Meeting, manage delegate and sponsor communications, and create engaging digital and print marketing that showcases BMUS activities.

Working as part of a small, friendly and collaborative team, you’ll have real ownership of your projects and the chance to make a visible impact across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver approximately 50% of the BMUS Study Day programme from planning through to on-site delivery
  • Manage venues, registrations, delegate payments and communications
  • Liaise with speakers, sponsors and suppliers
  • Support delivery of the Annual Scientific Meeting and external conferences
  • Produce content for newsletters, website and digital marketing campaigns
  • Work with the external social media agency to deliver social media content
  • Update and maintain website content
  • Support BMUS committees and membership engagement

Essential

  • Experience organising events or conferences
  • Experience in marketing or communications (print and/or digital)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Desirable

  • Experience in a membership organisation, charity or healthcare setting
  • Basic design skills
  • Experience working with volunteers or committees
