Poster Guidelines

Abstracts not following these guidelines may be declined.

  • The primary author will be the author who receives all communications relating to the abstract.
  • In the 'Add Additional Authors' tab, please enter the names and details of ALL authors, in the order they are to appear in the published abstract. Please include their place of work in full.
  • Please indicate who will be the presenting author, if different from the first/primary author.

Poster Abstract

Abstracts not following these guidelines may be declined.

  • Ensure you give your abstract the correct category (see full list of categories at the end of the page); incorrectly labelled abstracts delay the reviewing process and risk your abstract being declined.
  • Use no more than 300 words for the abstract.
  • Please structure the oral or poster abstract to include the following information:
    • The introduction, objective, or aim of the study
    • The methods used, description or findings
    • The results obtained (using numerical data if available)
    • The conclusions drawn from the work
  • The abstract should be submitted through the online form and not uploaded as a written document.
  • The abstract process is anonymous; none of the supporting documents should identify the authors.
  • Please spell-check your abstract. What you write in your abstract is what is published.
  • Abstracts not following these guidelines may be declined.

Please read the poster details below carefully.

  • The poster board will accept Portrait posters only - your poster needs to be made to an A0 portrait size (841 x 1189 millimetres (mm) or 84.1 x 118.9 centimetres (cm)).  This is particularly important as we will not be able to display landscape posters.

  • All posters must be attached with Velcro, which you should bring with you.

  • All accepted posters will be included in the conference app. Successful poster presenters will be required to supply a PDF copy of their poster for inclusion by the first week of November.

  • Poster viewing will take place throughout the conference. Posters MUST be displayed from 09.00 on 8th December (you can access the venue from 08:00) and should NOT be removed before 14.00 on 10th December.  Please note that any posters displayed after 09.00 may be excluded from the poster judging, which will take place on Days 1 & 2 of the conference.

  • You will be given the opportunity to stand with your poster during a break time to answer any questions.

  • It is essential that patient anonymity is maintained for all posters submitted. No poster should have any patient information, i.e. name, date, hospital identity number, displayed either in the text or on images.

Poster Numbers

The number allocated to each poster will be advised once the initial judging process is complete.

Poster Prizes

Three prizes will be awarded this year for the best Scientific Poster, Case Report Poster and Clinical Poster.  The winners' prizes will be presented during the Annual Winter Ball being held at Town Hall on Wednesday, 9th December 2026. Tickets for this event are available at a cost of £55 and are pre-bookable using the online registration.
