BMUS 2026 Student & Trainee Quiz: We have a winner!
Our annual Ultrasound Student and Trainee Quiz has come to an end, and this year's run of the quiz was both fun and engaging, to say the least!
With 28 challenging questions to answer, participants had the chance to win the coveted prize of 3 complimentary days at Ultrasound 2026 from the 8th to the 10th of December.
We want to say a big thank you to all the students and trainees who took part, and we are excited to finally announce our winner.

Congratulations to Dr Shyam Parajuly, a trainee sonographer at a London NHS Hospital, who answered 27 out of 28 questions correctly. As the winner, Shyam will enjoy the prize of attending all 3 days of our Ultrasound 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting, all for FREE! He will get the fantastic opportunity to explore the exhibitions, hear insightful lectures, and engage with peers and experts in the ultrasound field. At the news of his win, Shyam shared that he was “extremely happy and honestly quite surprised.” He highlighted the thoughtfulness put into each answer and the use of the BMUS website, archived articles and guidelines to help develop his understanding of the topic areas within the quiz. Shyam expressed his delight at receiving the congratulations email: “I immediately shared the news with my line managers because I wanted to share that moment of happiness with them as well.” |
Shyam recently joined the BMUS community as a student member, ready to make use of the benefits that come with it, including the workshops, discounted training courses and Ultrasound journal, which he particularly enjoys reading. Currently on the MSK Ultrasound PGCert at Brunel University, he has found the resources and opportunities offered for learning and professional development helpful for his academic and career journey.
For Shyam, the BMUS membership has proven to offer more than just learning resources and CPD; it stands as a valuable part of his journey.
“For me, BMUS feels like a wider ultrasound community where people from different professional and clinical backgrounds can come together, share ideas and experiences, and continue learning from each other.
