Abstract and Learning Outcomes

In November 2016 the National Institute for Health Research published a Health Technology Assessment ISSN 1366-5278 (DOI 10.3310/hta20900).

This looked at the Role of Ultrasound Compared to Biopsy of the Temporal Arteries in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Giant Cell Arteritis (TABUL): a diagnostic accuracy and cost effectiveness study, authored by Raashid Luqmani, et al.

Since then the use of ultrasound to help diagnose Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) has increased nationally, but with non-uniform adoption as a diagnostic technique.

This webinar will provide some sources for further learning, discuss the disease at a basic level, outline the anatomy, normal findings, basic scan technique and pitfalls, report proforma, show an abnormal case study and discuss the problems of training and service provision.

Please register your attendance here
