13th Jun 2026

Location: Derriford

This study day provides a comprehensive overview of ultrasound-guided HyCoSY, covering technique, clinical applications, and best practice to support safe and effective assessment of tubal patency. Join our specialised HyCoSy (Hysterosalpingo-Contrast Sonography) and SIS (saline infusion sonography) training course, designed for clinicians, sonographers, and fertility professionals looking to develop confidence and expertise in this essential fertility investigation.

The course will include an overview of the role of HyCoSy from a clinician’s perspective, highlighting its importance in fertility assessment. Participants will learn the core principles of HyCoSy, including patient selection, preparation, and examination technique.

Speakers will discuss the role of the fertility nurse specialist in supporting and preparing patients, as well as surgical management of uterine cavity abnormalities and related pathologies.

The programme also includes a demonstration film of a HyCoSy procedure and insights from an experienced sonographer on establishing a new HyCoSy service. Attendees will gain essential tips for effective report writing, helping ensure clear and clinically useful documentation.

A key feature of the course is the practical hands-on session, where participants will practice cervical cannulation and contrast preparation using models.

The course concludes with example clinical cases, reinforcing learning and encouraging discussion.

This course provides a balanced mix of theory, clinical experience, and hands-on practice, making it ideal for professionals looking to introduce or improve HyCoSy services in their practice
