Sonographers are increasingly working in demanding conditions due to workforce shortages and more complex workloads.  Delivering compassionate care in clinical settings can sometimes feel challenging.  In this unique study day, we will explore the vital role of compassionate care in ultrasound practice.  This is event is ideal for managers and anyone who may have experienced difficult conversations, patient complaints and adverse events in ultrasound. This course would also benefit newly qualified or trainee sonographers who want to embed good practice and the confidence to effectively manage difficult situations in ultrasound.

We are working with expert leaders to explore contemporary topics including equality and inclusive practice, understanding governance, managing conflict through effective communication and delivering unexpected news in both obstetric and non-obstetric settings.

We understand personal well-being and self-care is paramount to the delivery of compassionate care in healthcare settings. The day will conclude with practical steps to improve self-awareness, wellbeing and ways to develop communication strategies required for todays clients.  The study day promises to be engaging and reflective, ensuring participants are equipped with the practical steps, emotional awareness and skills required to support compassionate, confident and inclusive ultrasound practice.

This course is core to the professional development of sonographers

This year, we are also offering delegates the option to attend the Compassion in Ultrasound Study day alongside the Gynaecology Study Day (17th of April). Both events will take place in the same venue on consecutive days, and registration for the combined days will have a 10% discount applied.
