 Postgraduate Journal Prize Ultrasound

To support and encourage early stage researchers, Ultrasound - the Journal of the British Medical Ultrasound Society is pleased to offer a postgraduate journal prize for best article submitted to the journal by an MSc or PhD student in 2010. Articles may be related to any field of medical ultrasound.

Your article should be:

A review, research paper, or case report
Completed within the last two years
Supported by your academic supervisor
Before submitting your article please ensure that your manuscript adheres to the Notes for Contributors listed on the journal website: http://ult.rsmjournals.com/misc/authors.dtl

All articles should be submitted via the Ultrasound online Manuscript Central site at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ult. Please state that you wish your article to be considered for the journal prize in your cover letter. The prize is limited to student entries but does not exclude non-BMUS members.
Terms and Conditions:
  1. Articles for publication in 2010 must be received by 1st August 2010.
  2. The winner will be announced in the February 2011 issue of the journal. Winners will be contacted within one week of announcing the results.
  3. The article must be authored by a postgraduate student or relate to a postgraduate project completed within the last two years.
  4. Authors must abide with standard terms and conditions for publication in Ultrasound.
  5. The prize is not open to anyone professionally connected with the competition.
  6. The judges' decision is final.
 
 Ultrasound Image Competition

BMUS is pleased to announce its second ultrasound images competition; Ultrasound Visions. The aim of the competition is to give Ultrasound users and researchers an opportunity to explore their creative side.

Closing date 1st Sept 2010

Images should offer a fascinating, educational, beautiful, or humorous insight into any aspect of medical ultrasound.

Winning entries will be announced at the joint BMUS/ European Federation of Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EUROSON) Annual Scientific Meeting held in Brighton in September 2010. All images should be accompanied by brief description (of less than 150 words). Don't forget to also include your contact details! Images should be sent to Emma Chung (emlc1@le.ac.uk ).
Terms and Conditions:
  1. Entries must be received by 1st Sept 2010.
  2. The winners will be announced during the BMUS annual scientific meeting to be held in Brighton in September 2010. Winners will be contacted within one week of announcing the results.
  3. By entering the competition, the winners consent for their image to be used for publicity purposes by BMUS in printed and/or online formats.
  4. The prize is not open to anyone professionally connected with the competition.
  5. Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
  6. The judges' decision is final.
WINNERS FROM 2009:

We are pleased to announce the 4 winners of the BMUS ‘Ultrasound’ Image competition, sponsored by Sony. Each of the winners received a state of the art Sony camera. Their image will also appear on one of the 2010 issues of the BMUS journal ‘Ultrasound’.
