Research Grant Terms and
Conditions
- The British Medical Ultrasound Society supports the promotion of medical
research using diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound. This award is to fund the
development of a new research project or a pilot study that may be used to
power a larger study.
- Applications are welcome for this open bid from current members of the
British Medical Ultrasound Society.
- The maximum grant awarded is £5,000.
- A research proposal is intended to convince peer reviewers that you have a
worthwhile project and you have the capability and work-plan to complete the
study. New applicants are advised to seek help from a senior member of their
department on how to write a grant proposal. Several websites also explain how
to improve your proposal writing. Do a Google search such as 'Writing a good
Research proposal'. If further advice is needed applicants may contact the BMUS
office.
- On completion of the work, the successful applicant will be required to
submit a report to the Scientific and Education Committee and present the
findings at the BMUS annual scientific meeting (ASM).
- Travel and subsistence to BMUS ASM to present the results of the project
should be included in the application (maximum £350).
- An assessment panel comprising of members of the BMUS Scientific and
Education Committee will consider applications. Applicants will be notified of
the outcome of their application as soon as possible after this date. The
decision of BMUS Scientific and Education Committee is final and binding.

| This award is given at each EUROSON Congress for the
best paper(s) presented in the Young Investigator's Session. The European
Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) invites
