 Welcome to Harrogate for the BMUS 2007 Annual
Scientific Meeting. Harrogate is a very convivial place in the approach to
Christmas and I look forward to seeing many of you there. This year’s
scientific programme has something for all. First, we aim to give BMUS members
what they want from the ASM with strong sessions on core applications such as
obstetrics and gynaecology and debate on professional issues. In addition, we
would like to attract our non-imaging specialist colleagues with introductions
and hands-on workshops on emerging applications, such as nerve blocks and
A&E applications.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Paul Allan as the 2007 Donald, MacVicar, Brown
lecturer as well as many other outstanding UK and international guest speakers.
You too can contribute to the programme with a proffered paper or poster.
Please submit your abstract via this website by 31st July.
As always, the BMUS ASM will also be a chance to catch up with friends and
colleagues. This year’s social programme will include a welcome
reception in the exhibition hall at the end of the first day and a Gala dinner
at the Majestic Hotel. Finally, I would like to thank the manufacturers who are
supporting our exhibition and hands-on workshops this year. We look forward to
